Who We Are
You probably want to know a little bit about us, so that you can decide if exploring our website will enhance the quality of your life. You’re in the right spot. Read on, new friend.
We met in 2007 while working in the nonprofit sector. Like you, we gave presentations on a regular basis. It wasn’t something we were really taught how to do, and there were few examples out there for how to do it well. In truth, many of us were doing a really poor job, and missing opportunities as a result. Ever wonder how to make the magic happen in a meeting or inspire a call to action in a presentation? What about ways to share data so it mobilizes a community rather than putting people to sleep? We certainly did. Since we approached things similarly, we decided to work together answer these questions and find a way to do things better! It was a total macaroni and cheese/ pb & j situation. It just worked.
Since then we’ve created and facilitated hundreds of presentations using our easy and effective planning process. We’ve had some big wins (we’d love to tell you about them), and also survived some major disasters (don’t ask; we’re still embarrassed).
When we started working together, it was simply about making our own work better, but eventually it became more. We figured out it was kind of awesome to help other people do the same things we were doing. We also knew that most people already had the skills and tools they needed to give great presentations - they just didn’t know it. And so our side hustle was born.
Prior to the pandemic, we facilitated in-person sessions throughout New England. In 2020, we transitioned to a virtual format and have been fortunate to work with public health entities across the country, training thousands of people in the field. While it’s been a challenging time for everyone, we were given a special opportunity: the chance to connect with more people than we’d ever expected, all doing amazing work in their communities. It changed our lives.
Our goal is to be a helpful resource as you boldly create kick-ass presentations that you are really proud to give, and your audiences love. We hope you’ll stay in touch...we can learn many new things from you, too.
Sincerely your presentation co-conspirators,
Jamie and Robin
